Rana Pratap Singh Statue, Kolkata, West Bengal
Featured in this video is the statue of Rana Pratap Singh in the city of Kolkata (Calcutta), West Bengal state of India. Maharana Pratap Singh was a ruler of Mewar and considered as an exemplar of Rajput’s self-esteem.
He was born on May 9, 1540 at Kumbhalgarh to Maharana Udai Singh II and Maharani Javanta Bai Songara (Chauhan) as the eldest child. He fought against the Mughal emperor Akbar whom he never accepted as the ruler of India. He was a great hero in Indian history. He died on January 29, 1597.
