Statues by Ram Kinker in West Bengal

Ram Kinker was a famous sculptor in Kolkata (Calcutta). He was born in 1910 in Bankura, West Bengal state of India. After completing his diploma from Kalabhavan, Santiniketan he became the head of the sculpture department there. He was also a talented painter.

Ram Kinker has created many popular works in Santiniketan. The statue of an elephant holding a baby is one of the most popular works of Ram Kinker. The statues made by Ram Kinker are historically very important.
