Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata

The Academy of Fine Arts in Kolkata (formerly Calcutta), West Bengal state, is one of the finest art galleries of India. Established in 1933, there are about eight galleries on its ground floor, which serve as a venue to have glimpses of the works of the best contemporary artists.

The academy has a big hall, where wonderful dance performances and local theatre take place along with a gallery completely dedicated to Rabindranath Tagore, the famous poet and composer.
