Chittaranjan Avenue in Kolkata, West Bengal
Chittaranjan Avenue or C. R. Avenue is a well-known place in Kolkata (Calcutta), West Bengal state of India. It was once known as the Central Avenue and later on renamed as Chittaranjan Avenue (C. R. Avenue) after Deshbandhu Chittaranjan Das.
The C.R. Avenue starts from the Esplanade in the south to near Shobha Bazar in the north. This is a busy road within the city of Kolkata and various major complexes are situated by this road.
You can see several heritage buildings on both the sides of this road and a major part of the Kolkata Metro runs underneath this road.
