The beauty of Taj entrance

The entrance to Taj itself is a great monument to visit. The entrance is a massive red sandstone arched gateway topped with delicate domes and chatris.

Some of the best examples of artistic calligraphy of Koranic verses can be seen on the entrance arch. The original door of the gateway was made out of solid silver.

An interesting feature of the gateway is that the letterings inscribed on it from top to bottom appear of the same size, to the naked eye.

The entrance gate wall is a masterpiece of fine inlay work. There are also inscriptions in Thulith script on white marble. There are also marble carvings on the wall.

The Taj Mahal is situated on the banks of river Yamuna in the beautiful city of Agra in Uttar Pradesh. This white mausoleum is a fine example of Mughal architecture.
