Tourists at Gangotri

Frequented by the faithful from India, but it does also attract foreign tourists in large numbers, who reach here for spiritual solace and outdoor activities like trekking and mountaineering. Some of the tourists coming to Gangotri go for trekking and the town often serves as the base for treks to proceeding to Gaumukh-Tapovan and also to Kedar Tal.
