Austral Lady’s Tresses Orchids of Uttarakhand
Commonly known Austral Lady’s Tresses these orchids are a common and widespread species found in the Himalayan regions. Scientifically called Spiranthes australis this pink spiral orchids is a common variety from the genus of orchid, Spiranthes.
This self pollinating Australian Spiranthes is a distinctive orchid growing to 45 cm height, with spiral arrangement of numerous flowers which are bright pink with a prominent white frilly lip. Pollination of these orchids is by small native bees. Self-pollination is also quite common. Summer is the flowering season of these orchids.
