Pilgrims offers their prayer at Gangotri, Uttrakhand

Gangotri temple situated on the right bank of River Ganga and encircled by rocky peaks is the temple dedicated to Goddess Ganga. Every year thousands of pilgrims from all over India offer their prayers at here.

The temple would remain close during the winter months starting from November middle to the end of April. During this time, the idol of the Goddess is kept at Mukhba village, near Harsil.
