Kedarnath Temple at Uttarakhand
Dedicated to Lord Shiva, Kedarnath Temple is one of the holiest Hindu temples located in the Garhwal Himalayan Ranges in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. Set amidst the spectacular snowy peaks, Kedar is another name of Lord Shiva, the protector and the destroyer.
Due to intense winter conditions, the idol of Lord Shiva is carried down to Ukhimath, a pilgrimage site in Rudraprayag district and is worshipped there for six months. Pilgrims are allowed to enter the sanctum sanctorum during this period. Featured in this video is Kedarnath temple during a sunny morning.
