Flowers for Aarti in Rishikesh

Rishikesh is a well-known center of pilgrimage in Uttarakhand state of India. Situated in Dehradun district Rishikesh is considered as holy since the river Ganga flows through this place. Haridwar, another popular pilgrim center of the state is situated 25 km south to this place. Rishikesh is also known as the gateway to the Himalayas.

In this video you can see the flowers used for Aarti in Ganga. Aarti is a ritual of worshipping river Ganga with wick lamps and flowers everyday after sunset. It is a ritual performed with the devotees singing Bhajans or devotional songs.
