Interiors of Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council
Featured here is the interior of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC). It is an autonomous council administering the tribal areas of the Indian state, Tripura and is situated in Khumulwng in the state capital, Agartala. The main objective of this Council is to empower the tribal people to govern themselves and thereby protect their social, economic and cultural.
Under the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution of India, TTAADC is vested with two types of Powers- Legislative Powers and Executive Powers. The Legislative Powers are exercised by a council of 30 members out of which 28 members are elected by adult franchise and two members are nominated by the Governor of the state. The Executive Powers are exercised by the Executive Committee.
