Cleanliness Is Next To Godliness - Preserve World Heritage Sites
There are 3600 protected monuments in India and 31 sites listed as World Heritage Sites by the UNESCO. This is not surprising for a country as large and diverse as India, boasting a culture dating back to a few millennia.
However, the public feels too little of the ownership and responsibility which is a crucial factor in the care of its heritage. As a country and as a people, this has been a great disadvantage. As part of its Incredible India campaign to promote tourism, the Indian government is now spreading the message of individual responsibility.
