“Art, in India, is present wherever you turn your eye,” says French photographer Frederic Lagrange.

It is all around – on the streets, in the skies. It infuses meaning into daily rituals and soothes the soul that yearns for beauty.

The woman featured prominently is painter, Anjolie Ela Menon. Menon, a Padma Shri recipient (the fourth highest civilian honour in the country) is one of the leading contemporary artists of India. Her paintings are in several major collections.

Lagrange, who lives in New York, is a fashion, travel, portrait, and lifestyle photographer. He is one of 30 photographers sponsored by Kodak worldwide.
