Tamarind
Botanical name - Tamarindus indica
Family - Caesalpiniaceae
A big evergreen tree up to 35m. Poultice of fresh leaves is applied over scabies, inflamed swellings, boils etc. dried powdered leaves is dusted over foul wounds and ulcers. Fruit pulp and boiled seeds are applied over inflamed swellings, boils and rheumatism. Sprinkling dried tamarind leaves could cure wounds. 3-6g leaf extract taken with half glass water could cure smallpox and chickenpox.
