Sankhya
Sankhya is one of the six orthodox systems of thought which is premised on the idea that the physical and psychological features of the world are the manifestations of a single principle, prakriti. Prakriti is also called ‘avyaktam’ because it is undeveloped and invisible.
Kapila is the legendary sage who is known as the promulgator of Sankhya. Kapila discards the unscientific notion of creation out of nothing. The first systematic exposition of Sakhya is found in the work of Sankhya Karika of Isvara Krishna who lived in the second century.
