Portia Tree
Botanical name - Thespesa populnea

A medium sized tree of 10-15m height. The decoction of bark is given for skin diseases as well as used as a wash. Ointment prepared by boiling bark in coconut juice is applied for skin diseases including herpes. Juice of fruit is used for removing warts, skin diseases, inflamed joints and insect bites. Flower extract is applied on insect bites. Flower extract mixed in castor oil is applied to cure inflammations.
