Lodh tree or Lodhri
Botanical name - Symplocos cochinchinensis
Family - Symplocaceae
A medium tree growing up to 12m. The bark known as lotur bark is given in skin diseases. Decoction of bark is used as wash for ulcers. For loss of mucus membrane from the inside of mouth the decoction made with tree bark and thriphala is taken. For eye diseases like itching eye bark extract is applied on the eyelid.
