Kashaya
Kashaya means ‘decoction’ or extract. There are more than 1000 kinds of Kashayas. Parts of herbs are cut into small pieces and then boiled in water in an earthen vessel till the liquid is reduced to a quarter of its original volume. The decoction is then strained though fine cloth or muslin.
