Gandhi suspends Satyagraha
When Gandhi came to know that a police officer had been killed by the mob in Ahmedabad, Gandhi was shocked and he was very sad. He said he felt that a rapier which ran through his body could hardly had pained him more.
He suspended the satyagraha movement all over India and undertook a fast for three days as penance for the violence committed by the people. That was typical of Gandhi and that was on 13th of April, 1919.
