Five Leaved Chaste Tree
Botanical name - Vitex negundo
Family - Verbinacea
A small tree of about 3m. Leaves boiled in coconut oil prevent fungal infections on scalp. Ointment of leaf juice is used as hair tonic and used on scrofulous ulcers and sloughing wounds. Ash of fresh leaves applied to inflamed and rheumatic joints. Roots are given in skin diseases.
