Machor Boar or Fish balls
Crumb-fried fish has always been popular with the fish-eaters. Machor Boar can either be a part of a meal or used as a short-eat.
Serves: 4 - 6
Ingredients :
1 kg fish, cooked and mashed
4 potatoes, boiled and mashed
1 onion, finely chopped
2 eggs, beaten
1 cup rice flour or 1 cup breadcrumbs
4 green chillies, finely chopped
A few sprigs of coriander leaves, chopped
1 tsp of freshly ground black pepper
1 tsp of chilli powder
1 tsp of turmeric powder
1 cup oil for shallow frying
Salt to taste
Method :
Mix together the fish, mashed potatoes and onion. Then, stir in the chillies, coriander, salt, pepper, chilli powder and turmeric powder. Mix well. Beat one egg and add to the mixture. Divide the mixture into equal portions and make into small round balls. Beat the other egg and keep aside. Heat the oil. Flatten the balls into rounds. Dip them in the beaten egg, coat with rice flour or breadcrumbs and fry till both sides turn brown.
