Devils Tree
Botanical name - Alstonia scholaris
Family - apocenaceae
It is a large evergreen tree up to 15m with pungent flowers found in forests and villages of Kerala. Infusion of the grayish colored bark; 1-2 ounces per day is given for skin diseases and weakness. Poultice of roasted leaves is applied on ulcers with foul discharge. Leaf juice mixed with ginger juice is given to women after childbirth for rejuvenation.
