Brahmacharya
Brahmacharya means celibacy or chastity. The word Brahmacharya has often been explained as abstinence from sex – in thought, word or deed. But such celibacy is observed only by ascetics.
According to Indian philosophy and yoga, the sadhaka is a condition of the mind enabling him to achieve a certain control over sex.
A proper study of the self is possible only when the sadhaka imposes restraint upon his desires and passions, a sort of non-deviation from one’s dharma or moral duty.
