Thiruvalluvar Statue in Kanyakumari
Thiruvalluvar Statue is one of the biggest landmarks of Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu state, India. This stone sculpture is dedicated to Thiruvalluvar, the great tamil poet and saint, the author of Thirukural. This statue is built adjacent to Vivekananda Rock memorial and is 133 feet high.
Of the statue, the pedestal which is about 38 ft high, represents the 38 chapters in the book of Aram in Thirukural and the 95 ft high statue standing on the pedestal represents the total chapters in Porul (70 chapters) and Inbam (25 Chapters) of Thirukural.
Located in the land’s end of Indian subcontinent, Kanyakumari or Cape Comorin is a famous beach destination where one can see the union of three seas - the Arabian Sea, the Indian Ocean and the Bay of Bengal.
