Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple, Srirangam
Dedicated to Ranganatha, a reclining form of the Hindu deity Lord Vishnu, Sriranganathaswamy Temple is located in Srirangam, Thiruchirapalli, Tamilnadu state of India. The temple has been constructed in the Dravidian style of architecture and is glorified in the Divya Prabandha, the early medieval Tamil literature.
Located on an island in Kaveri River, Srirangam is one of the most illustrious Vaishnava Temples in south India. It is a huge temple with 21 gopurams (towers), 39 pavilions, fifty shrines, Ayiram kaal mandapam (a hall of 1000 pillars) and several small water bodies inside.
