Ripon building, Chennai

In this video you can see the famous Ripon building, the seat of Chennai corporation (formerly Madras), situated in Tamil Nadu state of India. It was erected in the 1900s and was a marvelous creation of that time. The architectural style of this building is interesting.

This prestigious structure of Chennai was named after Lord Ripon, who is acclaimed as the father of local self government. The huge building now houses the municipality of Chennai.

Also there is a clock tower attached to the building in which four bells have been fitted. As you see in the video, this building and the nearby road have a royal ambience.
