Rajapalayam Municipality, Tamilnadu
Rajapalayam is one of the popular towns in Tamilnadu state of India. Situated 85 km away from Madurai, this town is significant in its own way. ‘Rajus’ were once a dominant community in this town and they built a fort (palayam) in this place and named it Raju Palayam. Over the years the name changed into Rajapalayam.
This video presents the Rajapalayam Municipal office situated just opposite the Telephone exchange on the T.P. Mills road. It was constituted in the year 1940.
Rajapalayam is famous for cotton marketing and you can see many spinning and weaving mills in the town. Another attraction of the place is the Rajapalayam breed of dogs.
