Panch Rathas, Mahabalipuram

Panch Rathas (Five Chariots), located at Mahabalipuram, a World Heritage Site, in Tamilnadu, India, is a perfect example of monolith Indian rock-cut architecture dating from the late 7th century. Mahabalipuram is known for many breath-taking monuments with Sculptural Panels, Caves, Monolithic Rathas (chariots) and Temples.

These monlithic temples are known as Rathas as they resemble wooden chariot and the temple is an innovation of Pallava King Narasimhavarman 1.
