Mukundanayanar Temple at Mahabalipuram, a World Heritage Site

Mukundanayanar temple, located at the northern end of Mahabalipuram monuments is a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple was built in the period of the Pallava ruler Rajasimha. The temple is not very much embellished with sculptural details.

The group of monuments at Mahabalipuram stands as an outstanding example of Pallava art and architecture. Mahabalipuram or Mammallapuram, UNESCO World Heritage Site is situated in Chennai, the capital city of the Tamil Nadu state, India.
