Mahabalipuram, the World Heritage Site in Tamil Nadu

Mahabalipuram is listed in World Heritage Site by UNESCO for its beautiful group of monuments, dating from the sixth to tenth century AD. It is situated on the Coromandal coast to the south of Chennai in Tamil Nadu state, India. The monuments here include stone rathas (temples consturted in the form of chariots), mandapas and the famous Shore temple. All the monuments here stand as a testimony to the architectural beauty of Pallava dynasty.
