Colourful facets of Sri. Thyagaraja
Even floor paintings in the households of Thanjavur create the divine mood of music especially during the Thyagaraja Music Festival held annually in this musical city. Featured in this video are local people of Thanjavur decorating the street with kolam (rangoli) to pay homage to the saint music composer Sri. Tyagaraja. Putting kolam in the front courtyard is a ritual of Hindu people of Tamilnadu. People decorate their households with coloured powders (kolam) making various images of the music legend.
