Kanyakumari Temple, Tamilnadu
Kanyakumari is a popular pilgrim center and a tourist spot situated in Tamilnadu state of India. It is located at the southernmost tip of the Indian sub-continent. Kanyakumari was named after the virgin Goddess Kanyakumari Amman, the major deity of the place.
Legend says that the marriage of Lord Shiva and Goddess Kanya didn’t happen at this place and in that disappointment the Goddess decided to remain virgin for the rest of her life.
