Kamaraj Mani Mandapam at Kanyakumari
Kamaraj Mani Mandapam, a memorial to honour the services of Thiru. K. Kamarajar, the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu at Kanyakumari. Kumaraswami Kamaraj, widely known as the ‘Kingmaker’ in Indian politics during the 1960’s was the President of Indian National Congress.
This memorial was constructed on the seashore where his ashes have been immersed. This memorial includes photographs narrating the life of the freedom fighter and a library.
Kanyakumari is the land’s end of the Indian subcontinent. It is located on the tip of the country where the three seas - the Arabian Sea, the Indian Ocean and the Bay of Bengal get united. It is also known as Cape Comorin.
