Ekambareswarar Temple at Kanchipuram
Sri Ekambareswarar temple is a famous Shiva temple and here, Lord Shiva is worshipped in the form of as Earth Linga (made out of river sand). The eleven-storey tower (gopuram) is adorned with beautiful sculptures and is one of the tallest temple towers in South India. Kanchipuram known as the city of temples, is one of the India’s seven sacred cities. It is one of the most sacred centres for Hindus and is also the seat of Shankaracharaya (the Indian philosopher who consolidates the doctrine of Advaita Vedanta or non dualism)
