Elegant Stone Carvings at Arjuna's Penance

This video has for you exquisite stone sculptures inside Arjuna's penance at Mahabalipuram aka Mamallapuram, a World Heritage Site near Chennai in Tamilnadu state of India. It is an enormous relief made on two massive boulders.

Considered to be one of the largest open-air rock canvases in the world, the Arjuna's penance is 31m long and 9m high. The surface of the rock has comprehensive carvings which display the most attractive and natural renditions of animals especially the elephants and monkeys.
