Sri Ekambaranathar Temple, Kanchipuram
Featured in this video is Sri Ekambaranathar Temple, a prominent shrine in Kanchipuram near Chennai, Tamilnadu state of India. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the temple covers an area of 400 acres and the present structure was built by Pallava Kings. This shrine is one of the Pancha Bhootha Sthalams, and this particular temple represents Earth.
The main idol (Shiv linga) of this temple is made of sand, and is referred to as Prithvi Lingam (Prithvi means earth).
