MGR Memorial in Chennai

This video shows the memorial to M.G. Ramachandran, former Chief Minister and popular actor of Tamil film industry. This monument is located at T-Nagar in the city of Chennai (formerly Madras) Tamil Nadu state of India.

It is easily accessible from anywhere in the city. It was inaugurated in 1990 by Mrs. Janaki Ramachandran, wife of M.G. Ramachandran. This is a beautiful place and was the official residence of MGR for more than two decades.

This monument can also be considered as a museum where there is exhibited almost all the things used by the actor cum politician. When you enter the building, you can hear the songs from his films which give a pleasant feeling.

As you go by you will find things like his shirts, pen, photographs, Bharath Ratna medal, books, certificates and much more. It is a popular tourist destination too and the entry is free for all. Altogether this place is worth visiting.
