Samdruptse Monastery - The wish fulfilling hill at Sikkim
Samdruptse and Ngadak Monastery is one of the oldest monasteries in Sikkim. Built by Tensung Namgyal, the word Samdruptse means "The wish fulfilling hill” and Ngadak means "promise" in local Bhutia language.
One of the major attractions of this monastery is its giant statue of Guru Padmasambhava, gazing upon the town and across the hills.
The monastery is located just above Namchi town on the way to Damthang approximately 7 km from Namchi town in Sikkim.
