Rangpo - A town in East Sikkim
A town in east Sikkim, Rangpo is a picturesque destination that borders the state of West Bengal and is situated along the Teesta River flowing through the state. Rangpo is the entry point of Sikkim - a landlocked Indian state and is located on NH 31A that connects Siliguri and Gangtok. It is a halting point for tourist vehicles entering Sikkim state and travellers outside India must produce necessary documents at the border police post to enter the state.
Rangpo has a large population of Nepalis and Bhutias along with Marwari businessmen who own most of the shops here.
