Enchey Monastery at Gangtok

The Enchey Monastery, an old Buddhist priory, located at Gangtok in Sikkim state, India. This monastery is an important seat of the Nyingma order, and is built on the place blessed by Lama Druptob Karpo, a tantric master known for his power of flying.

This ancient monastery has in its premises images of Gods, Goddesses and other religious objects. Every year around January ‘Chaam’, a religious masked dance is performed. The annual Puja (worship) is celebrated with dances on the 18th & 19th days of the twelfth month of the lunar calendar.
