History of the Kerala School of Mathematics
In this segment of indiavideo's conversation series, we feature Dr. K. Ramasubramanian. He is a faculty in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)-Mumbai. Ramasubramanian is an authority on the history of science and mathematics in India, particularly the contributions made by the 14th - 17th century CE Kerala School of Mathematics and Astronomy. He has edited the work "500 Years of Tantrasangraha", published by the Indian Institute of Advanced Study.
He has also published detailed explanatory notes in two volumes on ganita-yuktibhasa, a seminal work of the Kerala School of Mathematics (Springer 2009). Ramasubramanian was honored with the title Vidvat Pravara by the Sankaracharya of Sringeri Sharada Peetham in 2003 for his deep scholarship in Advaita Vedanta.
