Jantar Mantar -a Storehouse of Scientific Calculation Instruments
An astronomical observation site, Jantar Mantar in Jaipur, Rajasthan state of India, is the largest and best maintained observatory in the world that showcases fourteen important geometric devices for measuring time, predicting eclipses and to track the stars’ location.
The scientific instruments here are designed for the observation of astronomical positions of celestial objects that exemplify several architectural and instrumental innovations.
Built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, Jantar Mantar has been listed as one of the World Heritage Sites by UNESCO.
