Belonging to the state of Rajasthan in India, Mayur Morni dance is a popular folk art form, performed especially during the monsoon season, celebrating the gaiety and greenery of nature during the rains.
Named after the national bird, Peacock, this dance depicts the love between Lord Krishna and Radha. The male dancer dressed like peacock depicts Lord Krishna and the woman depicts Radha. Lord Krishna to please his beloved, changes himself into a peacock and dances, later Lord Krishna is joined by Radha.
