Nanhi Chaunch to promote twin issues

Terminating pregnancies where the embryo is detected to be that of a girl is a widespread practice in Punjab. Punjab government, Shiromani Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee, the pharmaceutical giant Ranabaxy and the Impact Group of companies have joined hands to intricate a move to reverse the trend. As part of the campaign thousands of saplings were handed over to women devotees to Amritsar to spread the message of ‘save girl child’ recently. The campaign is based on the theme ‘Nanhi Chaunch’ and intends to spread the pro-girl child message throughout the state.
