Why should I speak? Asks the parrot

Here is a reluctant parrot, which is not friendly when guests are around. Like small kids, who become shy when guests are at home, this domestic parrot also prefers to keep mum as much as possible. All it says is a ‘hello’ and that too after much pleading from its master.

In India, parrots are kept as pets, even though the wildlife law is not in favour of it. But, the people are quite fond of this winged beauty as it can also be trained to speak. A trained parrot would also alert the members in a house when some strangers are at the door.
