A Punjab School of Painting during Company Period
Indian painting history during the eighteenth and nineteenth century witnessed a new genre of painting popularly known as the Company School or Company Period. The paintings of this school display a blend of naturalistic representation and a nostalgic stylization of medieval Indian miniatures.
This is the video of Queen and King Edward in Indian Dress, a painting done by an unknown artist in Punjab School during Company Period. It is an amusing portrait of British Royalty. The painting portrays King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra in Indian costume during the Delhi Durbar in 1904.
