Machattu Mamangam

Machattu Mamangam is the annual festival of Thiruvanikkavu temple at Vadakkancherry in Thrissur district, Kerala. The concluding day of the festival is marked with the ceremonious procession of, ‘kuthirakolams,’ huge decorated effigies of horses. The effigies are brought to the temple by devotees. Performance of traditional percussion orchestra adds charm to the event.
