Temple Street, Puri
Puri, a holy city situated in the State of Orissa, India is famous for the Jagannath temple dedicated to Lord Krishna. The city has its own significance in the history of the sub- continent and hence a large number of tourists and devotees frequent this location.
Featured in this video is a busy street near the Jagannath Temple in Puri. One can see a huge crowd in front of the temple and on the street with cycle rickshaws are all set to carry the tourists to various destinations.
The English word “Juggernaut” meaning giant slow moving machinery came from the huge temple chariots of the Jagannath temple, which are drawn through the streets during the annual chariot festival.
