Konark Sun Temple, Orissa
Konark Sun Temple, dedicated to the Sun God is a well-known pilgrim center in Odisha formerly Orissa, a state located on the east coast of India. Built in CE 1278 by the King Narasimha Deva, the shrine is also known as Arkakshethra, which literally means sun temple.
The sun temple is often called as the Black Pagoda and has been declared as one of the World Heritage Sites. The sun temple known for its architectural grandeur also has intricate wall structures and exquisite stone carvings, which attract travellers from around the world.
The temple even in its ruined state draws the attention of tourists due to its architectural harmony.
