Naga women are excellent weavers

Here is a woman engaged in weaving shawls in a village in Nagaland, one of the north-eastern states in India. It is popular that the Naga women are excellent weavers and weaving in Nagaland is a trained job pursued by the village people.

A variety of shawls in traditional tribal designs are woven using colourful threads by the village people. One can find a small weaving unit in almost every house in Naga villages.
